# Tagging

Chat 3.0 lets you organize your Chats with custom tags, similar to hashtags. Add a tag like #demo or #q3\_review to a Chat to group it however makes sense for you and your team.

To add a tag, click on 'Add Tag' from within a Chat and type in the new tag. Tags are shared across your organization, so once a tag exists, anyone can reuse it and everyone sees the same set of tags to choose from.

Because a Chat can carry more than one tag, tags work like flexible folders. You could tag a single chat as both #demo and #q3\_review, then use those tags to quickly filter or group your chats from the Chats page (see [Lists](broken://pages/TVXpLZU6c76q1eKWHYpj)).

A few things to keep in mind:

* Tags can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores; other characters aren't supported.
* Tags aren't case sensitive, so #Demo and #demo refer to the same tag.
* You can remove a tag from a Chat at any time without affecting the chat itself.
